Build Lean Muscles While Burning Fat

Strengthening your muscles through exercise not only helps you tone and firm your body, it also helps you build lean muscle mass. Building lean muscle mass will help you naturally burn fat.

It's also important to eat a well balanced diet so the weight and inches you lose are fat only and not muscle mass. Unfortunately some fad diets may provide results temporarily, but burning muscle mass instead of fat will ultimately slow down your metabolism and ability to naturally burn fat. It's not hard to eat some protein in the morning (an egg on buttered toast or a protein shake) and this is a great way to wake up your metabolism so it begins burning fat. It's also important to make sure you are eating healthy carbs (not sugar and starches) and that your daily carb intake is no more than 45-60% of the total calories you eat. If you've ever said "I don't know why I can't lose weight or get the body I want because I hardly ever eat", then there's a good chance you just identified your problem. Starving yourself is never the answer. It will affect your physical and mental state, sabotage your efforts, and can bring you to the edge of despair. 1) Determine how many calories you should eat to get the results you want. 2) Make sure you eat healthy, whole foods and avoid processed foods with empty calories. 3) Start your day with protein. 4) Eat 3 meals or at least a snack with protein if you're skipping lunch. 4) Limit your alcohol intake and choose low carb selections when possible. 5) Workout at least 3 times a week to elevate your heart rate for at least 30 minutes to build lean muscle mass and burn fat.
