Strong legs, hips, and hip flexors are essential for any cheerleader who wants to excel in her sport. Higher jumps, strong stunts, and safe and controlled landings all require it.
While strong legs and hips are what help a cheerleader explode off the ground and gain jump height, its hip flexor activation that determines how high and how easily she can lift her legs midair to complete the jump. If the hip flexors are weak or if they are tight and have limited flexibility, extension will be impaired.
