How to get a better Cheerleading Hurdler

Do you want to perform eye catching cheerleading hurdler jumps? If so, you have come to the right place.

In this segment of our Cheer Jump School, coach McQueen works with Ashley on her cheerleading hurdler jumps. One of the key components is to work on resisted and non-resisted sets with Myosource Kinetic Bands / Cheer Bands to increase muscle reaction time, speed, and jump height. Ashley is working on leg strength, hip strength, hip stability, and her flexibility. The goal is to be able to jump off the floor with great height, have the flexibility to both legs out into proper form, and have the strength to get back down and land safely on the floor or ground. Notice that Ashley works through the resistance of the Myosource Kinetic Bands / Cheer Jump Bands she is wearing. The Cheer bands are helping fire the muscles in her legs, hips, and core. As Ashley, you will have to work very hard to fight through the resistance in order to work on technique, form, and strength simultaneously.

After performing your cheerleading hurdler jumps with Myosource Kinetic Bands / Cheer Jump Bands resistance, unhook the cheer bands and perform your cheer hurdler jumps without resistance. Please make sure when to clip the hanging bands to their same side clips in order to prevent them from swinging while you jump. When you perform your cheerleading hurdler jumps without resistance you will be able to feel and see the difference. As Ashley demonstrates in the video, she is able to jump higher, improve form and technique, which will result in a really great hurdler.
