Wrestling Training: Hip Strength and Balance
In this video, athletic and personal trainer is working with a team of wrestlers using the Myosource Kinetic Bands to build Hip Strength and Balance. In the video he tells the wrestlers to sit back in their hips when performing the exercises. This is to work on balance to gain hip strength and power. The wrestlers are working on challenging their core strength and balance in every move. Great body position and a controlled, strong, and explosively powerful core will take a wrestler a long way. When the wrestlers take off the bands to perform the same exercises they feel lightweight and explosive. The bands build the fast twitch muscles so they contract and react quicker.
Wrestlers need mobility and power in their hips and core. A wrestler who is stronger and has more mobility in their hips will be able to perform much more explosively. The Myosource Kinetic Bands will help wrestlers become more flexible in the hips and core so that their distance in movement is greater. With the mobility the bands provide, wrestlers are able to train their muscles for more explosive directional turns and prepare the muscles for twisting. The Myosource Kinetic Bands put tension on the muscles through resistance so the core muscles are able to generate more power through the hips, glutes, and back.
Another great aspect of using the Myosource Kinetic Bands for wrestling training is that all of the muscle groups benefit, instead of just the larger ones that most wrestlers focus on. A wrestler must be able to make their strength work for them or that strength is of no benefit. The bands provide the tension that wrestlers need for working their quads, hamstrings, glutes, abs, hips and calves simultaneously. The bands are also great for helping the muscles become more flexible and trained to prevent injury.
It is not hard to see when watching a wrestling match that the hips and core play a key role in how a wrestler will be able to use their moves and strength to dominate their opponent. The issue is that not enough focus is put on the hips and core during training. The Myosource Kinetic Bands were designed to condition the muscles for strength, power, flexibility, balance, mobility, and endurance.
