Get Ready for Battle - It’s Time to Take it to the Mat –Fitness Workout for Wrestling

It’s time to hit the mat. Wrestlers only have 6 minutes to show their stuff when steeping on the mat. So what is going to be the difference between you and your opponent? You opponent is not going to just stand there and let you manipulate them. Myosource Kinetic Bands will help you train so that you use your own bodyweight to work against the tension of the resistance. Try this wrestling drill:

Put on Myosource Kinetic Bands

Stand on the line with a partner where your line drills begin

Pick your partner up and carry him or her to the end line - Run while carrying your partner

Make sure to grab your partner around the hips so you can get them off the ground while you run

Release your partner and drop down or use the wall to perform high knees pushup position running for 15 seconds

Immediately pick your partner back up around the hips and run back to the starting line

Switch and let your partner carry – alternating until each of you have completed this 5 times

Now you should more than feel the burn from the resistance – attempt to increase your time with each rep throughout your season.
