Do you have the LEGS for softball?
If a person knows anything about softball they have heard the term "softball legs" before. This is not about those types of softball legs. This is about softball leg power for a pitcher to make it through seven-inning games. The legs that a softball catcher has to have to catch back to back games in 90+ weather with 100% humidity in all that catchers gear. We are referring to the legs that allow softball players to consistently push through playing and hit a walk off to put her team into the winners bracket. Yes, now that’s what I am talking about. A softball player being mentally and physically prepared for all this awesome game brings at them. These types of softball legs are going to push through to make things happen on the field.
The softball players in this video are utilizing a Myosource Acceleration Speed Cord to target all the muscle groups in the legs. The Myosource Acceleration Speed Cord is adding resistance to each movement causing these softball players to have to work harder against the resistance. Many softball players find that they have weak hamstrings, thighs and glutes and this provides a way to get those muscles reacting to increase strength, power and endurance.
If you are wondering how to train your softball players to perform and develop this type of softball legs then try pushing them into Acceleration Speed Cord conditioning so they have to endure more than they currently are now. Here is a routine to start off with;
30-split squats-jumping knee tucks to a sprint (60 yards)
30-skaters-to a sprint
30-air squats-to a sprint
Rest 1 minute and repeat x5
