This great training video is from RiseFit performing some great Explosive A-Skips while wearing Myosource Kinetic Bands. The objective of this athletic training drill is for athletes to perform explosive A-Skip movements driving the legs and arms in easy movement. Notice in the video how this athlete drives up with one knee and is explosively driving the arms at the same time. This basically looks like running but in slow motion for athletes to work on building speed, power and endurance. Each knee and arm drive forces athletes to work through the resistance of Myosource Kinetic Bands, which works the muscles harder causing them to react quicker.
When performing the A-Skip Drill athletes need to continuously maintain great balance and posture. When the body is not in balance an athlete will not be able to perform at their full potential. Notice in this video how this athlete keeps his knees and hips in line for each A-Skip movement. When his lead knee comes up with drive and power the arms are powerfully swinging to produce more output. Make sure to elevate the knee and push for drive to explode forward.
This A-Skip Explosive Speed Training Drill’s purpose is to produce explosive strength and power through the lower body, hips, glutes, core and upper body. Perform this drill just like the athlete in the video maintaining a great centered body transferring the strength and power through the legs and up through the core. Myosource Kinetic Bands are attached right above the knees to help each athlete generate power for strong leg drive. The bands are activating the muscles in the hamstrings, thighs, hips, glutes and core. The tension targets all the muscles, which in turn will help develop balance and speed. The faster the muscles contract the faster the athlete will be able to move. Notice how this athlete is able to generate a great amount of force in each A-Skip. Have each athlete perform these A-Skips with the resistance Bands and then without. Their lower body will feel lightweight and explosive.
