Each position on a softball field is different and there are some major components to becoming a beast on the field.  It is important to know how to implement speed into all the skills.  Whether performing a drop step or any other angle to get to the ball a softball player has to be able to read the ball well, get a good jump on a ball, drop step by turning the hips instead of leading with the shoulders or decelerate quickly enough to complete a throw.  It is important that each softball player be able to reach their full potential and top speed on the field.
